§ 28-8. Skateboarding prohibited in designated areas.

  • (a)

    No person shall operate a skateboard or other similar devices (not including roller skates and roller blades, which are permitted) at any time on any street, sidewalk or public property within the area listed below, or on any private property within the city limits on which the property owner has posted signs prohibiting skateboards. The area is bounded:

    (1)

    On its west by Monroe Street, extended to the Burlington Northern railroad tracks located to the south of Monroe Street;

    (2)

    On its south by the south edge of the Burlington Northern railroad right-of-way lying north of Waxahachie Creek;

    (3)

    On its east by Clift Street as extended to meet the said railroad right-of-way, to Highway 287 Business route; and following Highway 287 business to Jackson Street; then with Jackson Street to the north side of the Union Pacific railroad right-of-way;

    (4)

    On its north side by the north line of said Union Pacific railroad right-of-way to its intersection with Monroe Street.

    (b)

    Any person violating any provision of this section shall, upon conviction, be fined a sum not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00).
