§ 31-50. Minimum amount of coverage.

  • (a)

    The maximum amount of recovery in a policy of insurance required by this article shall not be less than the following sums, to wit:

    (1)

    For the injury or death of any one person in any one accident, ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00);

    (2)

    For total liability in any one accident or personal injuries or death, twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00);

    (3)

    For injury or destruction of property in any one accident, five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).

    (b)

    The minimum amount of insurance liability shall never be less than the amount established by the statutes of the state under the Texas Safety Responsibility Act or amendments thereto.
