§ 32-12. City parking garage.

  • The following rules concerning the use of the city parking garage are adopted and placed into effect:

    (1)

    The city parking garage is for the public use for parking for the county buildings, city offices, downtown businesses, and the public for business or pleasure downtown, and is available without charge. The city staff is however given the right to regulate its use.

    (2)

    Smoking is not allowed in the city parking garage, or within fifty (50) feet from any part of any entrance to the garage, except that smoking is permitted within enclosed motor vehicles while in the garage, if all ashes, cigarette or cigar butts, and any remains of matches or tobacco products are disposed of within the vehicle, and not removed from the vehicle while it is in the city parking garage.

    (3)

    The garage may not be used for pedestrian or bicycle exercises.

    (4)

    Skateboarding, skating with in-line, or any other type of skates, or riding on bicycles, is prohibited, however bicycles may be ridden from the entrance to bicycle racks provided. They are not allowed any further than to the bicycle racks.

    (5)

    Loitering is prohibited.

    (6)

    "Blue phones" located throughout the garage are for emergency use only. Any use for nonemergency purposes is strictly prohibited.

    (7)

    Motor vehicles may not be parked in the garage for over forty-eight (48) hours.

    These rules shall be posted by signs at all entrances to the city parking garage.
