§ 33-243. Backflow prevention assembly testers.

  • (a)

    All backflow assembly testers operating within the city shall be certified in accordance with all applicable regulations of TNRCC. No person shall operate as a backflow prevention assembly tester within the city without first being annually registered with the city manager.

    (b)

    At the time of registration, recertification, and upon the city manager's request, each person certified as a backflow prevention assembly tester shall furnish evidence to show that he/she is insured and bonded to perform services on private property, and has current licenses as required by the state and the city to perform the contemplated services.

    (c)

    Persons, certified as backflow prevention assembly testers, shall meet the following requirements:

    (1)

    Hold a TNRCC-approved backflow prevention assembly certification;

    (2)

    Maintain general commercial liability insurance and automobile liability insurance with the following minimum limits: $300,000 per person, $500,000 per accident for bodily injury, and $100,000 per accident for property damage or $500,000 if combined;

    (3)

    Received a confined-space entry training certification; and

    (4)

    Agree to abide by all requirements of the United States Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
