§ 2-1. City seal.

  • The city does hereby adopt as its seal that certain seal described as follows:

    A five-pointed star, with a ring about sixty percent (60%) the size of the star being superimposed over the star, the ring having the words "CITY OF WAXAHACHIE" and "1849" printed on it, with the area inside of the ring being divided into three (3) equal segments of one hundred twenty (120) degrees each, with each segment having a picture which is representative of a part of the Waxahachie economy, being a top center segment having a drawing of a factory, representing industry, a bottom left segment with a drawing of a cotton plant, representing agriculture and a bottom right segment with a steer head, representing cattle raising. A laurel branch is placed outside of the ring, behind the points of the star, on each side of the seal, beginning at the bottom and running just outside of the ring to the top of the seal.
