§ 2-43. Extension of coverage to policemen and firemen.

  • (1)

    The mayor is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City of Waxahachie, to execute and enter into all necessary or supplementary or amendatory agreements with the state department of public welfare for the purpose of extending to and including social security coverage for certain policemen and firemen of the City of Waxahachie.

    (2)

    The city secretary is hereby directed to make assessments, collections, payments, and reports as may be required by the state department of public welfare to provide social security coverage for certain policemen and firemen of the City of Waxahachie.

    (3)

    A sufficient sum of money shall be allocated and set aside from available funds for the purpose of providing social security coverage for certain policemen and firemen of the City of Waxahachie, such money so allocated and set aside to be known as a part of the City of Waxahachie Social Security Fund, which fund shall be set aside and maintained in the regular city depository.
