§ 2-91. Commission established; duties; membership.

An economic development commission be and the same hereby is established and charged with the duty of making recommendations to the city council and the Waxahachie Independent School District board of trustees concerning the approval or denial of applications for tax abatement, pursuant to the Property Redevelopment and Tax Abatement Act as amended, and such other duties as are from time to time assigned to it, and the members of the economic development commission shall be appointed as follows:
(1)

Voting members:

City Council of Waxahachie: two (2) members;

Waxahachie Independent School District board of trustees: two (2) members;

Ellis County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1: one (1) member;

(2)

Ex officio members:

Representative of city staff of City of Waxahachie;

Representative of financial office of Waxahachie Independent School District;

(3)

Legal counsel;

to serve at the will of the appointing entity or until their successors are appointed.
