§ 18-7. Activities restricted near intake, spillway, etc.

  • No swimming will be permitted within one-quarter (¼) mile of any water intake. No fishing, boating, hunting, skiing, picnicking or other recreational activity will be permitted within one-eighth ( 1/8 ) mile of any water intake. No fishing, boating, skiing, picnicking or other recreational activity will be permitted within one hundred (100) feet upstream from the face of the dam at water level and the lake area three hundred (300) feet from the spillway bridge. The water intake tower, dam, spillway weir and spillway are hereby declared to be off limits to the general public. The area one-eighth ( 1/8 ) mile from the water intake and the area one hundred (100) feet upstream from the face of the dam and the lake area three hundred (300) feet from the spillway bridge are hereby declared to be off limits to the general public for all purposes. Except for authorized personnel in the performance of duty, any person violating any provision of this section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
